The
Innovation in Crash Protection
Engineered for Pro
Cycling
Aerobag is
an integrated airbag system developed for elite racing, where performance,
weight, and freedom of movement are non-negotiable.
Lightweight, low-bulk, and
designed to reduce the risk of life-changing injuries, without compromising
speed.
Funded by EU
Who it’s for
Built for professional cycling and high-performance racing environments. Aerobag is engineered to be lightweight, with minimal thermal obstruction, and designed to recover its shape after impact, so the rider can continue when possible.
What it protects
Aerobag
helps protect the rider’s most
vulnerable zones in severe crashes:
Neck
Spine /
back
Chest
(frontal impact)
These are
the areas most associated with high-consequence injuries.
How it works
Aerobag
uses nine high-precision sensors that continuously monitor body dynamics, including
position, speed, acceleration, and motion patterns at 200Hz.
When the
algorithm detects an anomaly consistent with a crash event, Aerobag deploys
within 100 milliseconds, creating an instant
protective air chamber around the rider.
Design & integration
Aerobag is fully integrated into the shoulder straps of cycling bib shorts. From the outside, the system remains almost invisible, only a subtle bump on the back indicates the cartridge housing.
No external bulk. No compromise on aerodynamics or aesthetics.
Business model
Aerobag is designed as a plug-in safety system that can be integrated into performance apparel. It is offered through the clothing sponsors of professional cycling teams, enabling seamless adoption within existing team kits and supply chains.
